Ovarian cancer stage 3 – what is the survival rate?
Why this happens is still not clear. Why a beautiful, buxom woman, self-sufficient and smart, suddenly began to melt before our eyes like a candle? Why a young girl, who seemed to still have a whole life ahead of you needs to waste away in a hospital room, and enjoy your youth? The answer is simple, eating them is a terrible illness for us for some transgression, and the name of her cancer.
Cancer, or cancer is a process in which malignant tumor arising from epithelial tissue, affects organs and tissues in which it was formed. This disease is very difficult to treat, so it is very frequent fatal outcomes of the disease.

Ovarian cancer is a neoplasm of malignant nature, which arises directly in the ovaries. Ovaries is the female pair on the left and right sides of the pelvis. This disease is very difficult and dangerous.
Statistics say that each year this disease sick about two hundred thousand women from around the globe.
To determine exact cause of malignancies of the ovaries is not possible.
Some scientists have led to the hypothesis that the disease may develop from improper healing of tissues that covers the ovaries. Damage to this tissue due to the fact that at the time of ovulation each month one of the ovaries ruptures. Ovarian tissue after ovulation restored, however, some cells may undergo abnormal changes, which subsequently will lead to the development of the disease.
Women who bore a child, less likely to get sick with such disease, because they have fewer ovulations than women who were not pregnant. The more a woman has undergone pregnancy, the less she's at risk.
There is a hereditary predisposition to the disease that can be transmitted genetically, as the mother and her lines, and on my father's side.
Women who take oral contraceptives, less risk of getting cancer, as their effect can be compared to pregnancy, when there is ovulation.
Symptoms of ailments
Malignant ovarian tumor causes the following symptoms:
- the feeling of that swollen belly, which is very often repeated;
- pain in the abdomen;
- the growth of the abdomen;
- rapid loss of body weight;
- frequent urination;
- constipation, long-lasting nature.
It is because these symptoms, except the bleeding, is not taken into account due to their carelessness, the woman goes to the hospital, when the disease spills over into the running stage and the tumor spreads to organs located in the neighborhood, but the symptoms are like messengers of a serious disease.
Stage 4 ovarian cancer
The sooner a woman goes to the hospital with the problem of malignant neoplasms in the ovaries, the more likely she is to heal. The degree of illness is determined by the prevalence of malignant tumors in the body.
Stage 1 – cancerous tumor within the ovary;
Stage 2 disease is characterized by the fact that the tumor begins to grow into the surrounding tissues and organs, affecting the fallopian tubes and the uterus.
For ovarian cancer stage 3 characterized by the fact that the tumor spreads to organs located in the abdomen, and adjacent limfouzly.
At stage 4 the tumor malignancy to metastasize to the liver, spleen or lungs.
The prognosis of stage 3 cancer
The third stage of ovarian cancer is still divided into three subgroups:
- intervention" alt="surgery">3A in which in the course of operative intervention to the naked eye is not observed metastases in the abdominal cavity. The results of microscopic examination can confirm the presence of small clusters of cancer cells.
- 3b, in which the progress of surgery have metastases in the peritoneum. The diameter of the clusters does not exceed two, see
- 3C, in which the progress of surgery have metastases in the abdominal cavity and lymph nodes. Their diameter is greater than two, see
Unfortunately, the prognosis for the third stage of the disease is very often unfavorable. It all depends on the histological nature of the malignant tumor, because there are aggressive tumors that grow much faster than less aggressive. A successful outcome of treatment influences the biological age of the patient, and the presence of chronic diseases. In other words, the doctors believe that the survival rate is not more than ten percent.
